Art in Action
Be trained to share your love of arts through a multi-medium curriculum for grades K-5th. Volunteers are needed to instruct two classes per grade, per month and install gallery exhibits once a year.

Athletics
The sports program at St. Matthew is as large as it is successful. Parent coaches, assistant coaches, clock operators, scorebook keepers, and line judges are needed for each team. There are typically two practices and one game per week depending on the sport and grade level.
- In the Fall, beginning in late August VOLLEYBALL is offered to girls in the 4th-8th grade and BASEBALL is offered to boys in the 4th-8th grade.
- In Winter, beginning in November/December, BASKETBALL is offered to both girls and boys in 4th-8th grade.
- In Spring, beginning in March, TRACK & FIELD is offered to both girls and boys from 5th-8th grades.

Auction - April 2026
St. Matthew hosts an auction dinner dance every other year. Planning begins early and we need volunteers to start in the summer before the auction year. If you would like to volunteer contact Maria Gullo at Mariagullo10@gmail.com
Breakfast with Santa - December 7, 2024
Help us prepare for Santa’s arrival and get into the holiday spirit by transforming our auditorium into a Winter Wonderland! There are plenty of volunteer opportunities to help decorate the day before, set-up for the breakfast in the morning, breakdown and clean up after the event.

Campus Clean-up Project - August 17, 2024
An official campus clean-up day is typically scheduled in mid-August prior to the start of school. Volunteers gather on campus for a morning with their own tools to weed, trim plants, sweep, power wash, purge storage, etc. We are also in need of volunteers who have access to dump trucks, can haul debris to the dump or have specialty skills (e.g. painting, landscaping, construction, etc).

Carnival - September 6th and 7th 2024
Volunteers are needed for securing items such as food, drinks, games and prizes, chairing and working the game and food booths, as well as planning and running the talent show.

Drive-In Movie Night - To Be Determined
Experience the joy of outdoor cinema! This fun event is hosted in our own St. Matthew schoolyard and we can use volunteers to help assemble the snack packs and coordinate the logistics for the evening.

Family Mass Donuts
Assist in the planning and organizing of the delicious donuts after Family Mass. Volunteers are needed to help plan, order, deliver and set up after selected 10:15am Sunday masses.

Golf Tournament - October 25, 2024
Swing for St. Matt’s. Join this fun team to help solicit tee sponsors (corporate and individual) and other donations! The committee kicks off this summer. Help is also needed out on the course the day of the tournament to assist with set up and to run side events at various holes. Additional volunteers with a flair for setting up the banquet and auction tables are welcome too!

Hot Lunch
From 11:15am to 12:30pm daily, volunteers are needed to help serve hot lunch to students. Earn two hours of volunteer credit each day. Team coordinators are also needed to keep the program running smoothly. Our workdays are usually Monday-Friday, except minimum days.

Men of St. Matthew - MOSM
All school fathers are encouraged to join this active service group. The MOSM meet once a month and they sponsor or assist at events as needed. Look for them helping out at the Carnival, Breakfast with Santa, Auction Dinner Dance and at many other occasions.

Room Parent Coordinator
Job responsibilities include finding Room Coordinators for each classroom; holding a meeting at the beginning of the school year with all the Room Coordinators, and acting as a liaison to the Room Coordinators throughout the year so they have the necessary information to communicate to their classes. In the Spring, advertising begins for volunteers for the next school year.

Room Parent - 1 per class
We are looking for one room parent for each class for the 2023-24 school year. In this role, you'll work with parents and help seek volunteers for four class parties for the entire school year. Scouting: Daisies, Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts
Scouting offers an enriching experience starting in Kindergarten or 1st grade for girls and boys. Troop development depends on parents who are willing to put in a few after school hours per month to run the troop.

Uniform Exchange
This job involves organizing, cleaning and general maintenance of our used uniform area up in the loft of the auditorium. Weekly we need volunteer(s) to bring the used uniforms left in the school office up to the loft and size, organized, and hang the garments. Great job for those who need to flexibility as this task can be done at anytime or day of the week.

Winter Crab Bash - February 8, 2025
This event calls for volunteers to set-up, decorate, shop, cook, serve and help with the clean-up. It’s a casual adult-only event that parents look forward to each year.

Yard Duty
The playground and lunch tables can always use extra adults. Even though families are required to sign up for 2 yard duty shifts per school year, feel free to come for an additional shift by simply signing in at Mrs. Diaz’s office. Assigned yard duty/lunch shift volunteers need to report to Mrs. Diaz at 11:25am and will be finished by 12:45pm.
